Magic Stormers Force Decider Against KCCA Leopards

Magic Stormers staged a stunning comeback to beat KCCA Leopards 78-60 in Game Two of their National Basketball League playoff series on Wednesday at Lugogo, leveling the best-of-three tie at 1-1.

The Stormers, who had lost 65-67 in a tense Game One over the weekend, entered the clash with no margin for error.

But early on, it was KCCA who looked firmly in control, building a 37-25 lead by halftime.

The second half, however, told a different story. Stormers roared back with a 26-14 third quarter to erase the deficit and tie the game 51-51 heading into the final frame.

From there, KCCA collapsed, scoring just nine points in the fourth quarter as Stormers pulled away with a dominant 27-9 finish to seal an 18-point win.

Stormers controlled the boards 47-37 and, despite shooting just 4-for-19 from beyond the arc, showcased their depth with a remarkable 50 bench points.

Angella Auma led the charge with a game-high 23 points, while Daphine Adong and Joy Nekesa added 18 points apiece, Nekesa also grabbing 13 rebounds.

Martha Soigi and Tracy Namugosa scored 11 points each, while Perus Nyamwenge had 10 points in a losing effort for KCCA.

The decisive Game Three is set for Sunday, with the winner advancing to face JT Lady Jaguars in the best-of-five semifinals.
