St Mary’s College Kisubi, Bweranyangi Girls SS excel in 2025 Clash of Titans Golf Tourney

St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) and Bweranyangi Girls SS won the 2025 Clash of the Titans Golf Tournament at the par-71 Entebbe Club.

This two-round tournament brought together alumni from Uganda’s top schools in a colorful and spirited contest.

The event, played at Uganda Golf Club (Round 1) and Entebbe Golf Course (Round 2), served as a platform for Old Boys and Old Girls to compete for pride and bragging rights.

SMACK won the opening round with 357 points, carried their momentum into Entebbe with a clinical performance, securing 368 points in round two for a combined total of 725 points to dethrone Ntare School who had clinched the title last year.

Team captain Paul Habyarimana hailed the teammates for the brave performance; linking the victory to teamwork and preparation.

Last year we came second in a close contest, so this time we organized better. We had greater numbers, better practice sessions, and played more test games. The goal was to inspire young kids in schools and remind them that SMACK remains champions. We must take golf back to schools just as football and cricket are already doing.

Ntare School, the outgoing champions, finished second with 709 points, while Namilyango College claimed third place on 705 points.

Other top performers included Kigezi High School (676), King’s College Budo (676), Busoga College Mwiri (661), Nyakasura School (652), Makerere College (627), Jinja College (626), and Namugongo SS (489).

In the women’s competition, Bweranyangi Girls SS successfully defended their title, winning back-to-back championships.

They posted a total of 224 points, beating Mary Hill High School (209 points) into second place. Gayaza High School (197) finished third, while Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga (170) settled for fourth.

Clash of the Titans attracts people from across the country, making it a perfect opportunity to bond with our consumers. Beyond sponsorship, we gave the event strong media visibility, which has helped increase awareness and interest. More schools now want to join future editions. We showcased our Hima Blocks product, and the engagement we received has given us value for money.
