Pretty Banks Quits Team No Sleep, Gives Her Reasons

Ugandan musician Pretty Banks has announced her split from Jeff Kiwa’s label Team No Sleep (TNS) after just two projects.

During her interview with Galaxy TV, Pretty Banks revealed that she had personal issues to deal with that would take most of her time. She couldn’t handle them alongside the pressure that came from management to produce work; therefore, she was forced to walk away. 

The ‘Insido’ hitmaker denied allegations that they parted ways on a sour note. She gave Jeff Kiwa credit for helping her with her two projects and revealed that she had gotten exactly what she had hoped for.

“Right now I’m on my own. I asked him to let me go. We had no issues, but I had my personal problems, and with my mum sick, I had to be on my own without pressure from management. He was funding me, and with that, I might have ended up disappointing him. The help he gave me was more than enough, and I cannot begin to measure it. I couldn’t go on, yet I had my personal issues,” she said.

Pretty Bans is one of the few new school artists who have switched management companies since her breakthrough. In her defense, she has always signed with people who didn’t share the same vision as her. 

“I also love being with the right people. No musician wants to be unstable. Sometimes you think you have got the right people, yet they don’t share the same vision with you. But we still do not meet them by mistake. All the people I have worked with have helped me. Maybe I wouldn’t be where I am,” she said.

She further revealed that she was currently in talks with potential new management and would announce her next move to her fans as soon as everything was sorted.

“People always approach, but I have to be careful. I have seen it all. People have different visions, but if I get those who believe in me and are serious about my career, then that will be it,” she said.
