CHAAPA League season 10: Grand finale quarter-final draw held | Road to the Kraal

There are less than 10 days to the grand finale of the 10th CHAAPA League, an Alumni league that brings together the Old students of Mbarara High School.

For starters the grand-finale will be held at the Mbarara High School playground on Saturday, 20th September 2025; under the theme “Road to the Kraal”.

Unlike the previous nine editions where the league was played on a round-robin format, this year witnessed a slight change.

After completion of the regular season, the top eight teams will now play in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and eventually the final.

Dingiswayo (The Zulu Warriors) toppled the rest of the other 18 teams to finish on the summit of the table standings with 39 points, with a better goal difference off Yobo Yobo.

The other top eight teams were Bull Old Timers, Burdizo, CHOGM, Msamatu , See Far and Sikukulu.

Quarter final match ups:

The quarter-final draw was held on Wednesday, 10th September 2025 at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala.

The sponsors and media representatives participated in this quarter final draw.

CHOGM (2003) will face Msamatu (2001). Dingiswayo shall tussle against CF Burdizo  as See Far (2002) will square up against Sikukulu (2008).

Meanwhile; the other quarter final contest has Yobo Yobo (2006) against Bull Old Timers.

Kenedy Gumisiriza, the chairperson of the CHAAPA League anticipates an epic climax as he lauded the different sponsors and partners.

“The Road to the Kraal for the 10th edition of the CHAAPA League is on. There are great preparations to have a successful climax on the 20th September 2025 at Mbarara High School main playgrounds. We urge all the Old students to come and attend” Gumisiriza revealed.

The head of technical for CHAAPA League Douglas Ainemani assured a smooth flow of the games on the final day.

Ainemani also confirmed that the Holistics team will play against the current team of Mary Hill High School.

 Mercy Atwongyeire, an official from Uganda Breweries Limited, representing the brand Guinness expressed their readiness to pump the day.

“Guinness is glad to be associated with the CHAAPA League” she opened up. “We are excited to be firing up the grand finale and shall provide the best services like we have done in the previous outings and for the other alumni leagues” Atwongyeire added.

The other sponsors and partners for the CHAAPA League include Silver Backs events and lounge, Linqsoft Aluminum, Luxor Bar and Grill Mbarara, Tian woodwork and Furniture, Cavendish University, Switch-off, Tayari TV, among others.
