Why Katenga signed new KCCA contract

Angolan winger Ettiene Katenga will stay at KCCA for the next two years, the club has confirmed.

The exciting attacker signed a two new year contract with the Kasasiro that will keep him at the club at least until 2027.

Katenga revealed he had offers from within and abroad but stayed at Lugogo because he feels at home and wants to achieve much more with the Yellows.

“I am very happy to continue my journey with KCCA FC. This club has a great history and an incredible fan base,” said Katenga. “I feel at home here, and I am excited to keep working hard with my teammates to contribute to the team’s objectives. We have big goals, and I am ready to do my part to achieve the team’s objectives,” he explained.

Co-coach Jackson Magera who has been part of his managers since he joined in 2023 expressed his satisfaction with the contract renewal.

“Etienne is a very important player for us. His speed and creativity on the flanks are important to our team,” said Magera.

“This renewal shows that he believes in our project and the direction we are heading. We are building a strong team, and keeping our best players is crucial to our success. We look forward to seeing him continue to develop and contribute positively to this team in the coming seasons.”

Katenga becomes the club’s fourth player to renew his contract in the current transfer window after Joao Gabriel, Filbert Obenchan, and Umar Lutalo.

The club, whose trophy drought goes back to 2019 have also added new faces in Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Lazaro Bwambale, Rogers Mugisha, Herbert Achai and Enock Walusimbi.
