Usama Arafat: Vipers confirm arrival of KCCA winger

Vipers have unveiled Usama Arafat as their latest signing in the current transfer window as they enhance preparations for the 2025/26 season.

The winger confirmed leaving KCCA on Saturday in an emotional statement on X after four years at Lugogo.

The reigning premier league champions are yet to confirm the duration of the contract but is believed to be not less than two years according to reliable sources.

Usama, arguably KCCA’s best player in the last two seasons becomes the latest addition to the Vipers squad, following the arrivals of Robin Kane Hney, Mark Yallah, Taddeo Lwanga, Odili Chukwuma, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Ashraf Mandela and Enock Ssebaggala.

The Venoms begin their campaign on Friday with a tie against Namibia’s African City in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League in South Africa.

Usama’s late arrival could deny him the chance to debut in the game though but his addition adds to the attacking force that already boosts of Allan Okello, Yunus Sentamu, Milton Karisa, Gusto Mulongo, Kenneth Kimera, Pedro Sukuya and Isaac Ogwang among others.

Besides aiming to reach the group stages, Vipers have a task to defend the league and Stanbic Uganda Cup won last season.
