“From Selling Water on the Streets to Driving a Benz” Joseph Shares His Journey

Life has a way of surprising you. One day you are struggling to make ends meet, and the next you find yourself living the life you once only dreamed of. My name is Joseph, and I come from Mbale, Uganda. For many years, life was a constant struggle. I grew up in poverty, and when I reached the age to support myself, the only work I could find was selling water on the streets. It was exhausting work with very little reward. Each evening, I returned home with barely enough money for a meal, and sometimes I went to bed hungry.
I remember pedaling long distances under the scorching sun, carrying jerrycans of water on my bicycle, shouting to attract customers. Many people looked down on me, treating me as if I didn’t matter. Deep down, I always held onto the hope that my life would change, though I had no idea how. Every business I tried failed. I lost money, faced disappointment, and often wondered if poverty was all I was destined for.
