Power Dynamos eliminate ASEC Mimosas, set to face Vipers in Caf Champions League

Vipers will face Zambia’s Power Dynamos in the second preliminary round of the Caf Champions League for a place in the 2025/26 competition group stages.
The Zambian side eliminated Ivory Coast power house ASEC Mimosas on penalties after the two sides drew 1-1 on aggregate.
ASEC Mimosas won the reverse fixture in Abidjan 1-0, same score line they did lose by in the first leg in Zambia.
They finished the game with 10-men after Seydou Sacko was sent off in the 64th minute but they held on for a victory thanks to a 54th minute goal by Souleymane Fofana.
In the shootout, Dynamos were perfect from the five attempts with the hosts failing to convert one.
Vipers, who beat Namibia’s African Stars 2-0 on aggregate will host the first leg at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende on the weekend of October 17-19 and then play away a week later in Kitwe.
The aggregate winner over two legs will join the lucrative group stages.
