All set ahead of the first season double header at Namboole

The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League has come with several changes and innovations with an aim of enhancing competitiveness and developing the League according to FUFA.

Whereas the changes have been treated with mixed emotions, FUFA and the League organizers have stuck to their guns indicating the changes will be appreciated with time.

On Saturday, details ahead of the first season double header were revealed in a press briefing held at Kampala Serena, Hotel. Kitara FC will host Vipers SC at 5PM while KCCA FC will face SC Villa at 8PM on Friday, 4th October 2025 at Mandela National Stadium.

FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, League Manager Eric Oron Owori and representatives from host teams Kitara FC (Club President ASP Gilbert Nyaika) and KCCA offical Joshua Nagenda addressed the media.

Nakiwala revealed the ticket prices, coming in five categories namely; early bird (10,000 UGX), Ordinary (20,000 UGX), Silver (30,000 UGX), Premium (50,000 UGX) and Platinum (100,000 UGX) comes with a sticker and halftime hospitality.

Owori confirmed all the four teams concented to the fixtures and are aware of the arrangments despite Vipers SC and SC Villa still not in agreement with the new format.

Nyaika and Nagenda stated in affirmative that their respective clubs are ready to play come Friday.

“We are extremely happy about this move and we believe the League will continue to attract more fans to support the local clubs. As Kitara, we know the support we have and therefore we call upon the fans to turn up in big numbers that day.” Nyaika indicated.

Nagenda on the other hand said,” we had a good outing the last time a double header was held at Namboole and we believe the same energy will be on show come Friday next week.”

KCCA opened their season with a draw against Kitara while SC Villa and Vipers SC were not in action on matchday one.
