Vipers see off African Stars to advance to CAF Champions League second round

Result
- Vipers 1-0 African Stars [Agg: 2-0]
Yunus Sentamu goal at the half hour mark was enough as Vipers sealed a double over African Stars of Namibia with another 1-0 victory in the Caf Champions League preliminary round.
The forward capitalised on a mistake from the visitors’ centre back who failed to clear his lines as they played from the back with Milton Karisa successfully beating their press.
Jacky Ivan Minnaert made two changes from the team that started at Athlone a week ago with Sentamu repaying his faith while Liberian Robin Kane also got the nod ahead of Karisa.
Overall, the visitors were the better side but were lethargic in front of goal when presented with opportunities especially in the first half when they missed a one v. one situation and then rattled the post.
For the Uganda Premier League champions, it was more about managing the game and they got their reward.
They will now face the winner between Zambia’s Power Dynamos and Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas.
