Uncle Chumi Confesses to Robbing Her Grandmother with a Soda Bottle as a Child

TikTok content creator turned musician Uncle Chumi has opened up on an incident that saw her rob her grandmother at an early age.
Uncle Chumi, while speaking to Sanyuka TV, confessed that the incident occurred in 2000, when her grandmother, who was her guardian at the time, had made a significant amount of money from a big sale.
She held a bottle on her head pretending it was a gun, and it robbed her of all the money. Uncle Chumi revealed that the old woman fainted out of fear, making it her last to steal.
“I was a thief. Have even stolen from my grandmother, who raised me. I held a soda bottle on her head and lied to her that it was a gum. She gave all the money she had made from her sale. She fainted, and that was my turning point. Since then, I have never stolen,” she said.
Uncle Chumi’s confessions come shortly after she was released from prison, Busabala Police Station, over allegations of theft, as accused by her landlord.
She, however, denied the allegations, revealing that the case that got her behind bars was just a misunderstanding between the two parties.

She revealed that the case was still ongoing and will soon address the media about what transpired as soon as it is resolved. She thanked her fans who stood by her during the hard times.
“I thought everyone had abandoned me and didn’t need me anymore. When I had problems, people came to my aid. Things happen every day to people who want to make it in life because this will all be a testimony one day,” she said.
