Uganda’s professional golfer shot 2-under-70 during the opening round of the Vodacom Origins of Golf – Devonvale tournament on the Sunshine Tour.

Rugumayo is 5-strokes off the over-night leader Zander Lombard who played 7-under-65 on the first round.

Lombard’s round had 6 birdies, 10 pars and 2 bogies.

Rugumayo is tied joint 19th with 2-under alongside 13 other professionals.

During round one, the Ugandan had 4 birdies (on holes 2, 3, 12 and 15) with 12 pars (1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 17) as well as 2 bogies on holes 16 and 18.

A total of 131 featured in the opening round of the USD 115,222.64 (about Ug.Shs 402,388,569) funded tournament.

Round two will be played on Saturday, 27th September 2025 ahead of the final round.
