Phina Masanyalaze announces bid for Female Workers’ MP seat

Singer Phina Mugerwa, known by the stage name Phina Masanyalaze, has officially launched her bid to join the political arena.

While speaking to journalists at a press briefing, she declared her intentions to contest for the position of Female Workers’ MP seat that falls under the special interest groups.

“Today is the day I decided to come public and spill the secret that I have kept for a very long time, that I have joined the race to contest for the position of female workers’ MP. This position is in the special interest group,” Phina Masanyalaze stated.

She explained that the group includes workers, adding that Members of the Parliament who fall under this category are elected through the college vote.

She is confident that she has the support to win the seat since she is optimistic that she commands at least 500 voters at the moment.

“This group includes the PWs and workers. What brings workers together is the unions. There are more than 50 unions, and each brings 10 voters. Currently, I have like 500 voters. It’s a college vote,” Phina Masanyalaze explained.

The decision to step aside from active music is to create room and space for the new and fresh talents to join the industry and add fresh vibes to it.
