  • 4th: Abdul Kakeeto (Uganda) – 70, 72,74 (216)

It is a two-horse race heading into the final round of the Johnnie Walker Uganda Amateur Golf Open at Lugazi Hills Golf and Country Club.

Zambian Dominic Musonda played a course level 71 in round three to maintain his lead of the open with a gross overall total of 205.

“Today, everything was okay. My swing was on point, even front nine, you see the way I shot but when the weather changed, I made three bogeys in a row. I tried to make some adjustments but the weather was something else,” Mosonda told Kawowo Sports.

“I know this guy’s game; I have played with them several times. This tournament is mine,” he added.

Cwinyai returned a 1-over 71 to fall two shots behind Musonda going into the final round. The Tooro Club golfer who went into the third round trailing by a single shot took the lead with a birdie at par-5 hole 7 but bogeyed hole 8 as Musonda birdied the hole to regain the lead.

On the back nine, playing conditions changed after some rain and relatively strong wind.

Local boy Anthony Tukei returned the best score of the day, a 3-under-68, to leapfrog Tooro Club’s Addul Kakeeto to third place. Kakeeto played a 3-over-74 to keep his place in the final day pressure group.

The four will tee off at 11:50 a.m.
