Uganda Junior (U16) Silverbacks finished fifth in the 2025 FIBA U16 Afrobasket.

Uganda secured a well deserved 66-55 victory against Kigali in the U16 Afrobasket encounter at Petit Stade in Kigali.

Uganda came into the game after a painful 53-50 ) loss to Cameroon but collected themselves before bouncing back to winning ways.

It was a see-saw affair as Uganda opened a point lead (9-8) at the end of the opening period.

Evans Shyaka concluded the second period with a successful trip as Uganda took a 12-point (31-19) lead into the halftime.

Coming from the locker rooms, the game’s tempo increased but Uganda held onto a 13-point lead (47-34) at the end of the third period.

Despite Tunisia’s strong fight in the final period, Uganda secured an 11-point victory on the day.

Evans Shyaka and Shanne Kwizera led the scoring chart after dropping 24 and 16 points respectively.
