JT Lady Jaguars advanced to the semifinals of the National Basketball League Playoffs after completing a 2-0 sweep over Miracle Eaglets.
The Jaguars sealed the series with a 72-58 victory on Tuesday at Lugogo, building on their dominant 71-36 win in game one on Saturday.
They went into halftime leading 34-24 and kept control the rest of the way, aided by their strength on the boards where they outrebounded the Eaglets 53-37.
Shakirah Nanvubya led the charge with a game-high 26 points, while Mercy Batamuliza put up a solid double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds.
For Miracle Eaglets, Winfred Akello scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds, while Mariam Namukwaya chipped in 15 points, but their efforts were not enough to keep their playoff hopes alive.
It marked another early exit for Arnold Katabi’s side, who for yet another season fell short at the quarterfinal stage.
The Jaguars, still in search of their maiden NBL championship, now turn their attention to the semifinals where they will face the winner between KCCA Leopards and Magic Stormers.
