CAFWZQ: Kampala Queens Reach Semifinals

Kampala Queens have secured a place in the semifinals of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers, following JKT Queens’ 2-0 victory over Yei Joint Stars at Kasarani Stadium.
The result saw JKT Queens finish top of Group C with six points from two matches, while Kampala Queens advanced as the best second-placed team.
JKT created several chances in the first half but were unable to convert.
The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Jamila Rajabu Mnunduka opened the scoring.
Eight minutes later, right-back Esther Maseke doubled the lead with a well-taken goal to seal the win.
Earlier in the day, CBE FC and Top Girls Academy played to a goalless draw, a result that saw both teams eliminated from the competition.
In the semifinals set for Sunday, 14 September, JKT Queens will face Kenya Police Bullets FC, while Kampala Queens will take on Rayon Sports Women FC.
The third-place playoff and the final will be played on Tuesday, 16 September.
The winner of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers will represent the CECAFA region at the final tournament scheduled for November.
