Woman dies in Nsangi lodge after ‘two days of sex, boozing’

Police have launched a manhunt for a man identified as Godi Muwonge after a woman he had checked into a lodge with was found dead in Nsangi, Kyengera town council, Wakiso district, along the Masaka highway.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Muwonge, who also goes by another name, Kabaka Aperu, met the deceased, identified only as Patricia, in a bar. The two reportedly agreed to spend time together and later checked into Sanyuka Lodge on September 7 at around 4 am, after paying Shs 10,000 for a room.
According to Sanyuka Lodge management, the pair spent two days drinking, often leaving to take alcohol before returning to their room. On Tuesday, however, Patricia was brought back to the lodge extremely drunk and barely able to walk on her own.
Muwonge managed to get her into their room, but her condition deteriorated further. He reportedly attempted to revive her by giving her milk, but without success. Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said investigators suspect that Muwonge fled when he realised Patricia’s condition was worsening.
On Wednesday morning, Patricia’s body was discovered by lodge attendants in the same room where she had been staying with Muwonge. Nsangi Police, alerted by lodge staff, examined the scene, recorded statements from witnesses, and recovered the milk container from the room. Patricia’s body was later conveyed to the city mortuary for a postmortem examination.
“Nsangi Police Division has opened a death inquiry file to investigate the circumstances surrounding Patricia’s death. The postmortem report will provide crucial insights into the actual cause of death,” Onyango added.
Friends who spoke to police said Patricia was a commercial sex worker who often spent several days with clients. She reportedly rented a room in Kasenge, Kyengera town council, where she either received clients or accompanied them to lodges.
