Uganda Cranes player ratings in the 2-0 Somalia

Allan Okello and Jude Ssemugabi were on target for Uganda Cranes in the first half as they saw off Somalia to keep within touching distance of group G leaders Algeria in the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Against a very organised Somalian team, Cranes couldn’t replicate the goal scoring form showed against Mozambique but just did enough to claim three points.
Ismael Kiyonga rates the Uganda Cranes player that showcased at Namboole.
Jamal Salim 6/10:
His ball distribution was great as he initiated play from his own area often. Had no much to do but his collection from dead balls wasn’t as convincing.
Tobby Sibbick 7/10:
A decent and remarkable competitive debut. Defended well and got forward well. Whipped a couple of decent crosses and tested the goalie from range in the second half.
Aziz Kayondo 8/10:
Won the penalty that set the tone for the victory and his well-weighted crosses resulted into goal no.2. Energetic as usual despite facing decent opponents down his flank.
Elio Capradossi 7/10:
Denied a goal by a goal line clearance when he ventured forward. Defended well.
Jordan Obita 8/10:
Provided a lethal ball to Kayondo in the build up to goal no.2. He was sharper his passing was as good as his defending.
Khalid Aucho 6/10:
Always afraid to take risks as he passed ball backwards often but a better show in the second half as he picked balls from his centre backs and made some decent cross field passes to unlock the resilient Somalia defence.
Kenneth Ssemakula 6/10:
Not as imposing as he was against Mozambique but did okay especially by covering spaces when the opponents had the ball.
Allan Okello 7/10:
Confidently sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot and created some spaces with his silky movements on and off the ball.
Rogers Mato 7/10:
Lively and heavily involved but should have scored with at least one of his chances especially in the first half but saw his attempt cleared off the line. Put the ball on the plate for Mukwala and was let down by his team’s finishing.
Jude Ssemugabi 7.5/10:
Scored a poacher’s goal reacting faster to tap home after goalkeeper spilled the ball into his path. A workaholic on and off the ball.
Steven Mukwala 6/10:
Caused some danger but didn’t frighten the Somalia defence enough. Missed an easy chance in the second half after being set up by Mato. Withdrawn for Omedi.
Substitutes
Denis Omedi 5/10:
Returned from suspension following a red card against Mozambique in the reverse fixture. Energetic but not lethal with his final ball.
