Miracle Eaglets Fight to Keep Season Alive

Tuesday, September 9
*Miracle Eaglets Vs JT Lady Jaguars – 7pm
*JT Jaguars Vs City Oilers – 9pm
Miracle Eaglets face a do-or-die battle on Tuesday night when they take on JT Lady Jaguars in Game Two of their National Basketball League Playoffs quarterfinals at Lugogo.
The Eaglets trail the best-of-three series 1-0 after a bruising 71-36 defeat in Game One, where they were blown away early, going down 43-16 after the opening quarter.
Playing on the road in Kiira, Miracle never recovered and looked second best throughout.
Coach Arnold Katabi will be hoping the shift to Lugogo provides a change in fortunes, with no excuses left as his side fights to stay alive in the series.
The Eaglets struggled offensively in the opener, with no player reaching double figures — Esther Loki Mpongo and Winfred Akello leading with just 7 and 5 points respectively.
They missed 20 of their 22 three-point attempts and were out-rebounded 43-63.
For the Lady Jaguars, the mission is clear: finish the job. Backed by the depth and experience of stars like Sarah Ageno, Maimuna Nabbosa, Shakirah Nanvubya and Mercy Batamuliza, coach Sudi Ulanga’s side will be out to seal a clean sweep and advance without drama.
JT Lady Jaguars collected 31 points off their bench, compared to 13 for Miracle in Game One.
