In a thrilling World Cup Qualifiers Group B encounter, Senegal overturned a two-goal deficit to edge DR Congo 3–2 at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
The Leopards looked set for victory after racing into a 2–0 lead. Cédric Bakambu opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a clinical finish following a slick team move, before Yoane Wissa doubled the advantage just seven minutes later, capitalizing on a rare handling error from Senegal goalkeeper Édouard Mendy.
But the Teranga Lions refused to fold. Pape Gueye’s precise strike in the 39th minute reignited Senegal’s challenge, and Nicolas Jackson equalized early in the second half, reacting fastest to a loose ball in the penalty area in the 53rd minute.
