Willy Mukabya reveals he skipped the struggle of being an upcoming artist

Willy Mukabya has revealed that he never went through the typical struggles of an “upcoming artist” during his early years in the music industry.
Speaking on a YouTube show, Mukabya said that his first two singles were so well received that they propelled him straight into the spotlight, sparing him the long grind most artists endure.
The whole country got to know me from those songs. I was never an upcoming artist like those ones who sing for years without proper breakthrough. I became a celebrity instantly with my two hit songs.
Mukabya reflected on how celebrity status in his early years felt more special compared to today, noting that fame carried respect and admiration from the public.
A celebrity back then had so much respect and people yearned to see you. It felt special. At first I didn’t feel it, but whenever I’d sit somewhere for a meal or something, people would crowd up on me, and that’s how I started to feel my celebrity status.
