Uganda Cranes Player Ratings: Uganda 4-0 Mozambique

A brace from Rogers Mato and a goal apiece from Allan Okello and Elio Capradossi sent Uganda into second place in Group G after thrashing visiting Mozambique 4-0 at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
It was a perfect revenge for the Uganda Cranes who lost the reverse fixture 3-1 and the two teams are six points behind leaders Algeria with three rounds to play.
Ismael Kiyonga rates the Cranes players on show as the Cranes ran riot to keep the faint world cup dream alive.
Jamal Salim Magola (7/10):
Didn’t really have much to do but dealt with the little threat the Mambas threw at him with confidence. A clean sheet on his return
Elvis Bwomono (6/10):
Made a slow start in the first half but improved after the break especially going forward when Mozambique opened up.
Aziz Kayondo (7/10):
Struggled at the start against Sporting Lisbon’s Catamo but always able to recover and stifle the threat. Enjoyed the physical battle and more solid.
Elio Capraddosi (8/10):
Rarely put a foot wrong at the heart of defence and headed home Uganda’s forth.
Jordan Obita (7/10):
The Hibernian defender was never fazed by the home crowd on his official home debut and his partnership with Elio appeared as though it has been there for ages.
Khalid Aucho (6/10):
Started the game despite missing out on the initial list and he was neat and tidy in possession. He also had some decent moments going forward.
Kenneth Ssemakula (7/10):
A calming and influential presence in the middle of the pack who gave the backline the desired cover.
Allan Okello (10/10):
He opened the scores with an exquisite strike from distance. Tested the goalkeeper twice from set pieces and was always available to receive possession and take the team forward with his intelligent play. The Okello we all want to see dominate matches surfaced on the day. Perfect.
Rogers Mato (8/10):
After a lethargic first half, Mato put on his lethal boots and scored two beautiful goals to make up for some indecision.
Jude Ssemugabi (7/10):
Looked a real threat with his pace and when he got on the ball but the last pass often let him down. A workaholic who gave defenders no chance to rest on their laurels.
Steven Mukwala (6/10):
He was lethargic when 2-3 opportunities came his way but held play very well as a lead striker and interchanged play with Mato, Ssemugabi and Okello neatly.
Substitutes
Travis Mutyaba (6/10):
Decent touches, imaginative and created a good opportunity which Aucho spurned.
