SQUASH: It is all systems go prior to 2025 Kinyara Sugar Invitational tourney at Kampala Club

Kampala Club Limited will be a bee-hive of activity between the 22nd to 27th September 2025 as the Kinyara Sugar Invitational Squash tournament takes center stage.
At least 100 players from Uganda and the neighboring countries will compete for top honors in either gender.
The official launch of this tournament was held on Monday, 15th September 2025 with the organizing team led by Hon. William Byaruhanga expressing readiness to showcase the best organizational abilities.
The tournament received a big boost with a Ug.Shs 30,000,000 sponsorship from Kinyara Sugar Limited.
“Kinyara Sugar Limited is excited to associate with Uganda Squash Rackets Association for the Kinyara Sugar Invitational. We are here to promote sports talents within Uganda. We look forward a long-term relationship” Sekhar Veedhi, Kinyara Sugar Limited marketing director remarked.
Kinyara Sugar is also known for their sponsorships for football and golf.
Dr. David Kamukama lauded Kinyara Sugar Limited for the continued support of sports, particularly Squash.
“We are honoured for the support to Squash. We thank you for the decision to sponsor Squash as a priority sports activity among the 12 sports disciplines at Kampala Club” Dr. Kamukama attested.
Uganda Squash Rackets Association (USRA) president John Bosco Tamwesigire Ahimbisibwe promised a great championship, showing the level of readiness for this tournament that will also have the best players from Kenya as James Dalidi, Joseph Sean and Jane Njeri among others.
“Kampala is ready to host the best Kinyara Sugar Invitational Squash tournament. We shall have international players and the best prizes await the outstanding performers” Tamwesigire stated.
The local legion of players include Paul Kasirye Kadoma, Ivan Wasswa, Jonathan Wegamire, Michael Kawooya, Elizabeth Musimenta, Julian Ainomugisha, Joelia Mpomba and others.
The players who reach the quarter finals will have a bargain on the Ug.Shs 8,000,000 cash kitty.
Besides cash, there were will be other prizes as sugar, medals, certificates and trophies.
The organizing team is constituted of Hon. William Byaruhanga (chairman), Victor Odongo, Michael Kawooya, Timothy Kayondo, George William Kasekende and Cornelius Engwenyu.
