Masaba: “Scoring Not a Big Problem” as BUL Beat Maroons

BUL FC registered their first win of the new Uganda Premier League season after edging Maroons 1-0 on matchday two at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Midfielder Ibrahim Mugulusi scored the decisive goal in the 36th minute, finishing off a pass from Martin Aprem.
BUL could have secured a more comfortable win, but Karim Ndugwa missed two clear chances from close range, keeping Maroons in the contest.
Assistant coach Simeone Masaba welcomed the victory, saying it was an important step for the team.
Masaba noted, “This is a positive result to get our first win of the season. Scoring is not really a problem — we scored today, and in the next game we may score two or three. The important thing is that we are creating chances, and we’ll keep working on converting them.”
Looking ahead, Masaba added, “We now have a few days to prepare the boys for a tough trip to Mbarara City, who are always dangerous at home.”
The game was briefly halted in the 22nd minute due to a heavy downpour before play resumed.
Last season, BUL who finished third, scored 38 goals, the least among teams that finished in the top seven.
BUL’s next outing is away to Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium on October 14, after the international break.
