Saidi Kyeyune has been granted a testimonial by URA as he ends his long stay at the club.

Kyeyune joined the four-time league champions from Maroons in 2011 and during his three stints with the club, he won the Uganda Cup and Mapinduzi Cup as well as playing in the Caf Confederation Cup.

According to the club, the granted testimonial will take place at Nakivubo stadium in August with a team yet to be named.

“The testimonial match, set to be held at Nakivubo Stadium, the club’s new home for the 2024/25 season, will feature a team that will be announced towards the end of August, just before the start of the 2024/ StarTimes Uganda Premier League,” the club statement read.

“To further honor Kyeyune’s legacy and distinguished service, the club has also considered a gratuity for him.”

Over time, Kyeyune is the longest serving player at the club with over 12 years.

Between 2011 and now, Kyeyune was only away twice – first in 2016 with Proline and a short stint with El Merrikh in 2021 before returning to the club in the same year.

In recent times, only two players have been granted testimonials by their clubs in Uganda – Steven Bengo when he ended his career at Wakiso Giants and Hakim Magumba at SC Villa.
