Uganda’s Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Titus “The Rock” Tugume officially returned home after a four-month stint in the United States of America (USA).
Tugume was based in Orlando Florida State where he was under a specialized training and coordinating with the youth there under the program “Gloves On, Guns down”.
“My stay in the United States has been worthy it. I interacted with a number of MMA experts and trained with them. Also, we worked with the youth under the program Gloves on, Guns down so that we could keep them more engaged” Tugume narrated.
While in the US, Tugume also played against American fighter Louis Catoe in Florida state, with no clear-cut winner as the judges called for stalemate at the Seminole Blvd in Senford Civic center, organized by the Cage Life Foundation.
In March 2024, Tugume represented Uganda at the 13th African Games in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) under the demonstration games hosted by Ghana in West Africa.
After the games in Ghana, he traveled to the USA where underwent intense training drills.
In Ghana, he also held high profile engagement meetings with the Global Mixed Martial Arts officials led by the president Alexander Engelhardt at the Alisa Hotel North Ridge in Accra city, Ghana.
For starters, Tugume is an active army officer in the Uganda Air Forces.
His management and camp is yet to announce a big fight as he intends to bid farewell to active fighting before embarking on a career in training athletes and administration.
He has played Taekwondo, Boxing, Kickboxing and now the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
