Wanderers last won a local league title in 2013 and on Sunday, September 29 which is 11 years later, they will be hoping that lightning strikes twice in the same place it did way back.

Davis Karashani is the still around playing for Wanderers but the team has changed so much since then.

Wanderers had the rough passage to the finals, defeating Kutchi Tigers in the quarterfinals before dismissing Ceylon Lions in the semifinals. On the other hand, Rounders had to go through Nyakasura in the quarterfinals and then saw off Tornado in the semifinals.

Wanderers has the experience and will be relying on players such as Captain Davis Karashani, Wasim Butt, and Frank Nsubuga for the leadership in the final while the youth of Joel Kakaire, and the new Cricket Cranes pace bowler Mohammad Shaaf for energy in the field. Simon Ssesazi featured in the semifinal win against Ceylon Lions for Wanderers and his big game experience will be important in the final.

Rounders has added Cricket Cranes All-rounder Dinesh Nakrani to the side but they will be without Brian Masaba who got injured during the PNG series but are not in the final by chance. Captain Narinder Singh, Arnold Tembo, Jonathan Nyiiro, and Pius Oloka are match winners on any day.

The afternoon final has an unlikely team’s Rounders from Division 2 while Wanderers finished second in the Division 1 50-Over League.

The winner walks away with 3 million shillings while the runner-up takes 2 million.
