Mbarara City were denied a stunning victory over hosts URA as the two sides settled for a 1-1 draw on Saturday at the new Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.

Following a goalless draw, Seiri Arigumaho broke the deadlock in the 59th minute but Moses Aliro equalised three minutes later.

The dreadlocked forward who had a goal disallowed in the first half, rightly so for offside was wrongly denied what would have been the winner in the 73rd minute.

Arigumaho shot into the roof of the net off Joseph Akandwanaho pass was wrongly ruled out for offside but television replays showed otherwise.

URA are now 6th on the 16-team table with four points while Mbarara City remain third from bottom with only two points after three league matches.

Both teams play away in round four with URA travelling to Mbale Heroes while on October 5 while Mbarara City face BUL at Lugazi on October 2.
