Wakiso Giants have honored their captain Hassan Ssenyonjo by unveiling a stand in his name at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.

Ssenyonjo has spent the past five years with the club after he joined in 2019 and is the club’s longest serving captain.

The Aspire Academy graduate has played over 120 games for the club and his loyalty didn’t go unnoticed by the club.

“In recognition of his outstanding leadership, consistency and dedication over the past five seasons, we are proud to announce that one of the stands at our stadium will now be named the SSENYONJO HASSAN!”

The decision to name one stand in the name of a current player is the first of its kind in Uganda.

Ssenyonjo is one of the few players who have spent as much time at the club as their life span in the premier league.

Others are Tom Masiko and Alex Komakech as well as Lawrence Bukenya although he spent half of last season at Kitara before he made a return.
