Uganda Expects to Host US Music Star Jason Derulo, in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS Concert
The Information Technology, Electronic Products and Machineries Manufacturing Communication (INTEPMMAC) in partnership with Linda Country Club Kampala has taken into practice the act of social corporate responsibility by engaging in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Uganda through organizing a music concert inviting a US star Jason Joel Desrouleax , a singer and song writer to enhance awareness.
The government of Uganda, through the Vice President Hon. Retired Maj Gen Jessica Alupo, invited as the Chief Guest, the minister for health Hon. Jane Ruth Acheng, the minister for kampala Hon. Minsa Kabanda , has been fronted as a key stakeholder in the forthcoming concert scheduled for 29th of September this year , according to the Executive Director INTEPMMAC , Mr. Arafat Igibolu.
On Monday, speaking to journalists, he added that the spectacular uniqueness away from the usual concerts in the country is that, there will be a performance from a music icon, an international artist from United States of America called Jason Derulo, accompanied by some local artist .
“Jason Derulo wlll set his foot in Uganda on Friday 27th September, 2024 and he shall receive a special welcome. After that, he will make a profitable exercusion to Mulago hospital to have a close liason with the affected and thereafter get in for a press briefing. We shall hold a moment of silence in remembrance for the fallen souls of our brothers, our sisters, our fathers, our mothers, and all friends who succumbed to HIV/AIDS here in the country and the world at large,” Igibolu said.
He however included that one of the chief reasons for the concert is to create a concrete awareness to all Ugandans and the world in general about the dangers of AIDs, and as a platform to fight and end AIDs to save the future of families, friends and children by 2030.
Therefore, In a bid to fully involve themselves as a company in the fight to end the number one enemy and threat to life, AIDs, they decide to give 30% of the total money got from the concert to different media houses like Television stations, radio stations, among others to aid in spreading the message of preventing and fighting AIDs, 5% to influencers with big number of following to add a voice into spreading the gospel of fighting to end AIDs and 15% donation to beloved ones living with HIV/AIDS through TASO Uganda, he noted.
In summary, 50% of the money got from this concert shall be injected in the war to fight and end AIDs and donated to help beloved ones affected by AIDs to live a fair life.
