Wasswa, Basangwa send warning shots to NEC

Express FC captain Emmanuel Wasswa and striker Richard Basangwa have sent a warning to NEC who they face on Thursday at MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The Red Eagles are winless in their past two matches and have also picked one victory in their past five league matches.

The indecent form is a springboard for Wasswa and Basangwa to spur the seven-time champions.

“We have not done well in the past games but we are a big club and we need to show that at NEC,” said Wasswa.

The same sentiments were echoed by Basangwa who is expected to trouble the NEC backline on the night.

“Like the captain said, we can’t afford to lose this game and I call upon all our fans to show up and give us the desired support.”

NEC are desperate for victory to keep leaders Vipers in check as they are on 44 points, five behind.

With the Venoms not in action until Saturday when they visit champions SC Villa, NEC will move within two points with maximum points over the Red Eagles.

In the other league match on Thursday, Kitara make a trip to Kavumba to face Police in the early kick off.
