Human Resource Managers Association inks partnership with CIPD to develop the profession
The Human Resource Managers Association creates opportunities to allow exchange of ideas, knowledge improvement and innovation as part of their career development.
In a bid to facilitate continuous development of the human resource profession in Uganda, the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) has partnered with Career Connections Ltd under Chattered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) based in the United Kingdom to conduct trainings in the profession.
The training will witness human resource practitioners attend CIPD courses starting with February 2021 in different levels.
According to a statement accessed by this website, the President HRMAU Moses Mbubi Witta said that they entered an agreement with the CIPD for members in groups assess and attend CIPD courses including level 3 and level 5 human resources learning.
“The HRMAU has entered an agreement with the CIPD whereby HRMAU members can go through Experience Assessment (EA) in groups and also attend CIPD courses Level 3 Certificate in HR and Level 5 Diploma in HR courtesy of Avado Learning. Enrolment is underway with the courses set to commence in February 2021. We anticipate having 30 members taking part in the first cohort” he said.
He President called for fast trucking of the enacting of the Human Resource Bill since it was initiated in 2016 which he said have been presented to various key office bearers to handle.
“We developed a Communication Message on the HR bill to be shared with the HR fraternity when we have progressed on the Regulatory Impact Assessment that will be a step forward for the HR Bill enactment” he said

He highlighted various development that association has accomplished for the benefit of the members including:
Acquisition of the association management software system aimed at supporting optimization of member engement which he said commences operation in January 2021, conducting webinars in the final quarter of 2020 aimed at Strategic Planning, Performance Management and Change Management, streamlining the governance structure, developing a HR manual among other development.
In the future plans for the association the President said that In 2021, professional development after compiling the human resource calendar, events decided will focus on areas based on the needs’ assessment conducted as well as the key trends in Human Resource. He added that with the with the new Glue Up system, they will conduct seamless trainings culminating in the 2021 Human Resource conference that will be scheduled for November 2021.
