Nubian Li joins Nakawa Mayor competition, heeds Bobi Wine’s call to politics
Singer and longtime associate of NUP (National Unity Platform) president Bobi Wine, Nubian Li, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Nakawa Mayor in the upcoming 2026 general election.
For some time, rumors had been going around Nubian Li’s possible entry into active politics, but the artist has now confirmed it publicly.
His announcement came during a recent burial ceremony, where he revealed his decision to heed Bobi Wine’s frequent calls for youth involvement in politics.
As our president provokes us to join in if we have the capability to stand, me too I’ll stand for the position of Nakawa Mayor, and I’m requesting, when the time comes, to consider me.
His declaration was met with a resounding round of applause from those in attendance, signaling early support for his political ambitions.
