Uganda Cranes’ starting eleven against Mozambique in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers (Group G) has been confirmed by head coach Paul Joseph Put.
The Belgian has opted for South African based goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola who returns in between the goal posts after some spell out.
He has been considered ahead of the vastly experienced Dennis Onyango and Joel Mutakubwa.
Elvis Bwomono and Abdu Aziizi Kayondo are at right back and left back positions respectively.
Elio Capradossi and John Obita are the two center halves that start before the passionate home spectators.
Skipper Khalid Aucho, Kenneth Ssemakula and Allan Okello are in central midfield.
Jude Ssemugabi, Steven Mukwala and the pacy Rogers Mato are the offensive options.
Scottish based Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru will have to wait for his long-awaited Uganda Cranes debut as he is among the substitute players.
The other players on the Uganda Cranes bench are; Denis Onyango, Joel Mutakubwa, Gavin Kizito, Herbert Achayi, Rogers Torach, Toby Sibbick, Ronald Ssekiganda, Travis Mutyaba, Abdu Karim Watambala, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Joseph Mpande.
The match will be played under floodlights with kick off at 7 PM.
With Guinea’s 3-0 victory over Somalia during the early kick off at Mandela National Stadium on Friday, Uganda is now fiftth on the table standings with 9 points, same as Botswana.
Guinea has 10 points, Mozambique on 12 points and the group leaders Algeria with 18 points.
