SHACK League Season 3 Kicks Off – Football, Music, and Guinness Vibes

The SHACK League, powered by Guinness, officially kicked off Season 3 on Sunday, September 28, with an explosive blend of football, music, and entertainment at Legends Grounds in Kampala.

The opening weekend delivered everything the league has come to represent — competitive football during the day, and electrifying performances to cap off the night.

Fans were treated to an action-packed fixture list that set the tone for the season. Centennials got off to a flying start, beating Dicos Brigade 3–1, with Kinya Emmanuel netting twice and Kazibwe Pius adding a third.

They later sealed a 2–0 win over Kaduce Warriors, courtesy of goals from Nathan Mangeni and Tim Kester.

Elsewhere, Jabba Gurus edged Jabbarians 2–1 through goals from Walukaga Herman and Zzinda Joseph, while Basajja Bakame cruised past Green Cave 3–0, thanks to a brace from Kuwebwa Rodney and a strike from Kato Peter.

Apettah Kings overcame Mbookya Warriors 2–0 with goals from Brian Kayemba and Arinda Leonard, before losing 1–0 to Ntuli Kings, where Kasasiira Brian grabbed the decisive strike.

Mbookya Warriors later bounced back in style, thrashing Gosha Freaks 4–1 with Matsiko Raymond scoring twice, while Ssenyonga Brian and Senteza Joseph also got on the scoresheet.

Washington Outlaws secured a narrow 1–0 win over Kawoo Rioters through Alinda Jotham, while Nkonde Kings and Fazo & Sonz shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

As the sun went down, the Legends Grounds atmosphere transformed into a festival. City Groove Band set the mood with a lively performance before SHACK alumni took part in the fan-favourite Kaba Challenge.

Rising star Kapeke then lit up the stage, paving the way for Quex Music, who had the crowd on its feet with his timeless hit Kachumbali.

Karole Kasita delivered one of the standout sets of the evening, performing her popular track Go alongside collaborator Elijah Kitaka, who also impressed with smooth renditions including Dawa. The night wrapped with NRG Radio’s DJ Vee keeping the energy high, spinning a mix of afrobeat, urban, and party anthems.

Victor Kiyimba, president of the SHACK League, hailed the successful start:
“What we saw this weekend is exactly what the SHACK League is all about; competitive football, vibrant culture, and unforgettable experiences. We’re not just building a league; we’re building a movement that celebrates the spirit of community and excellence,” he said.

Mercy Atwongyeire, Project Manager for Premium Beer at Uganda Breweries Limited, echoed the sentiment, saying Guinness was proud to fuel the experience.

“Guinness is proud to be part of moments that bring people together in celebration of culture, talent, and community. The SHACK League perfectly captures that spirit, combining sport, music, and energy in a way that truly resonates with our consumers,” she noted.
