The XXXIII Olympiad in France will officially be opened on Friday, 26th July 2024 along the famous River Seine in Paris city.

A total of 10,700 athletes will take part in this world’s biggest multi-sport fiesta where 32 different sport disciplines shall be held for 329 events.

Football and Rugby 7’s kicked off on 24th Wednesday 2024 with handball and archery following suit on Thursday.

There are a number of games ear-marked to be played at the different venues in Paris and other cities of France.

The official opening ceremony will be held on the famous River Seine which covers an enviable 777km with a basin size of 79,000KM (31,000 square miles).

The president of France H.E Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron will officiate at the official opening ceremony is on Friday, 26th July 2024.

At this year’s Olympic Games, Uganda is represented in Swimming, Rowing, Cycling and Athletics.

There are 25 athletes from Uganda with athletes having the lion’s share of 21 participants, 2 swimmers as well as one rower and cyclist apiece.

The closing ceremony will be held at Stade de France on 11th August 2024.
