Tunisia’s Club Africain has confirmed the signing of Ugandan defender Kenneth Ssemakula.

The ex-SC Villa captain joins the Tunisian side on a two-year contract until 2026.

Ssemakula helped Villa end a 20-year wait for a record extending 17th league title and immediately announced his departure from the Villa Park side.

The centre back cum right back follows in the footsteps legendary Jackson Mayanja, Emmanuel Okwi, Yunus Sentamu and Richard Kasagga that have played in Tunisia with Esperance, Etoile Du Sahel, CS Sfaxien and Olympique Beja.

Club Africain is one of the oldest clubs in Tunisia formed 103 years ago and has won 13 league titles and as many Tunisia FA Cups.

Last season, they finished 6th on the 14-team table in the Tunisia Premier League.
