Namibian government denies visa extension request for Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II

The Namibian government has officially declined a visa extension request for Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

This decision, reported by Namibia’s public broadcaster, has stirred attention from netizens.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II

King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Kabaka of Buganda, has been undergoing medical treatment at Okunguari Psychotherapeutic Centre in Kunene Province. The request for the visa extension was aimed at allowing the Kabaka to continue his recovery without interruption.

Namibia’s Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, led by Executive Director Penda Naanda, rejected the extension request.

Dr. Daleen de Lange, the director of Okunguari Psychotherapeutic Centre, had sought this extension to facilitate the king’s continued stay for health reasons. However, Namibian immigration laws impose a strict maximum stay of 90 days for non-Namibian visitors.

Penda Naanda, in response to the request made on July 9, noted adherence to the country’s immigration laws.

Given the above and having checked the records, I wish to inform you that the request for an extension for Kabaka Mutebi II is declined.
