Anko Ronie reveals unique music production vibe

When creatives open up about how they come up with their unique productions, you better be ready to be stunned, and sometimes even amused.
Renowned singer, songwriter, and audio producer Anko Ronie, born Ronald Matovu, also just shared how he always gets into the vibe to come up with those slickest productions in Uganda’s music scene, but maybe that’s what makes his sound so unique.
Speaking in an interview on Spark TV’s 21 Questions, hosted by Evelyn Mic, he disclosed that the restrooms are his most comfortable place where he gets the vibe and melodies that he fuses into his music projects.
“One of the places that I feel peace at and where I get the vibe and melodies is the restrooms, “Anko Ronie said.
He mentioned that when creating music, he first considers melodies before he thinks of the lyrics to the song, stating that they’re the hardest.
“I first think of melodies because they are the hardest when doing music. The lyrics come later on,” Anko Ronie submitted.
While many artists begin with words and wrap the melody around them, Anko Ronie prefers to chase the elusive rhythm and mood first.
Only when he’s satisfied with the vibe does he start piecing together the lyrics.
