Wakiso Giants have no room for error, Lugazi want to continue rise

Wakiso Giants must beat visiting UPDF on Friday if they to improve their survival chances.

The Purple Sharks have struggled for form and are winless since match day three when they overcame Maroons 3-2 at Luzira early in the season.

They lie 3^rd from bottom with 14 points and victory will see them cut the points on the safety positions to five points at least until Saturday when Mbarara City play BUL at Kakyeeka.

In the reverse fixture, Wakiso Giants fell to UPDF 1-0 but they have never beaten the Purple Sharks home and away in a premier league campaign.

UPDF won the corresponding fixture 1-0 last season on the final day to ensure survival.

Currently, they are 11^th on the table with 24 points and need victory to end a two-match losing streak.

Elsewhere, Lugazi want to continue their good form when they host Maroons at Najjembe.

Steven Bogere’s men are 10^th on the table with 26 points and have won four of the past five matches including victory over giants Express FC.

On the other hand, Maroons are one point above in 8^th position and have won just once in the past five meetings.

Their last outing was a 3-1 defeat at home to second placed NEC and will need to bounce back at Lugazi.

The Prison warders won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Luzira through a late goal from Brian Omirambe penalty.
