The Mud Cup season 7: Mudman Burgers continue to fuel the championship as key sponsors

The 7^th season of The Mud Cup will be played on 29^th to 31^st May 2025 at Banga playground in Nakiwogo, Entebbe Municipality.

Since inception, this tournament which accommodates all players from varying age range has grown in stature and reputation.

It is now arguably Entebbe’s most prestigious football tournament.

From day one of this tournament in 2021, The Mudcup has been sponsored by Mudman Burgers, a fast food chain Restaurant located in Montana in the United States of America (USA).

The Mudman Burgers have been joined by other strategic partners as 157 Ministry, Life Boat 14 and Potters Field Ministries (PFM).

Mudman burgers is deeper than just a burger chain but it’s a business that was started under an organization called “Potters Field Ministries.

This ministry was started in 1992 to support children all around the world by providing food, education and spiritual growth.

Mudman Burgers is the resourcing tool that helps fund the work of PFM and help children and youth all over the world in countries as; Uganda, Kenya, Cambodia, South America, Guatemala, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and even the urban cities of America.

Mudman Burgers has over 3 restaurants and still is using the resources to sponsor, educate and disciple children and youth all over the world, Uganda inclusive.

For starters, the Mud cup is organized by 517 ministry with a bold vision of promoting the talents of players within the country, and at the same time, using football as a tool to reach to the masses.

The 7^th edition is expected to draw as many as 16 teams that will be divided into groups of 4 apiece with the successful ones after group stages making the grade to the knock-out round until the finals to determine the winner.

Registration fee per team is fixed at Ug.Shs 160,000; with every team assured of a set of jerseys after registering.

To ensure adequate preparations, there will be a tournament meeting on 20^th May 2025 at the 517 Ministry offices located in Lunyo, Division A.

Rewards:

There are good prizes that await the top performing team and individual players.

The best team will pocket Ug.Shs 500,000, trophy and gold medals.

The runners up team will earn Ug.Shs 300,000 and silver medals whilst the 3^rd team shall take home Ug.Shs 100,000.

There shall be individual accolades to the Most Valuable Player (MVP), top scorer, best goalkeeper, best defender, best coach and youngest player.

Since inception, a number of players have played this tournament and many have reaped dividends as being scouted for education bursaries, clubs and Masaza tournaments.

Navigators football club won the first three editions.

Special Forces Command (SFC) triumphed in the fourth edition with Banga Galaticals taking the fifth edition.

Carlos football club won in the sixth edition played in December 2024.
