Stecia Mayanja prioritizes music over politics, leaves NPP
Singer Hajat Stecia Mayanja has officially announced that she is no longer a member or president of the National Peasants Party (NPP).
This revelation comes just days after her performance at President Yoweri Museveni’s political event at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, which sparked outrage among party members and supporters. 
Many accused her of betraying the party by seemingly campaigning alongside their political rival.
In response, the NPP committee summoned Stecia and later made the decision to expel her, citing her failure to uphold the party’s values and beliefs.
Speaking to the press earlier today, Stecia clarified that her passion remains in music, not politics.
She emphasised that she is not willing to abandon her career in the entertainment industry to pursue political ambitions and therefore quit.
