Mukono Child Kidnapper Captured After Asking Money from Mother in Saudi Arabia.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Luke Owesigire has informed the public in a press conference that the Mukono Police department succeeded in the recovery of a kidnapped child and also arrested the suspect who was involved in the incident that was reported on Wednesday, last week.

Police in Mukono has successfully rescued a child from one  Ndyabaje Samson and Kakande Alousyous, the kidnappers who were asking for money from the mother in Saudi Arabia. The child being recovered safely and reunited with the family.

According to police investigations, Dyabaje Samson abducted the child from the guardians home and contacted the mother in Saudi Arabia via WhatsApp asking for ransom of 2m while Kakande Alousyous was the keeper after the abduction.

“The suspect, identified as Ndyabaje Samson, used an airtel number to ask for ransom from the child’s mother after taking the child from Ms. Nabukeera Maria Goreti, the guardian's home in Ntunda Village.”

Owesigire added on Monday, at the time of the incident, the guardian was not present at home. Therefore the perpetrator found three children asleep in the sitting room, took a photo of the sleeping victim, and sent it to the victim's biological mother who is currently working in Saudi Arabia.

He indicated that throughout the night, the perpetrator continued to communicate with the child's mother via WhatsApp, threatening to harm the child if a ransom of 2,000,000 UGX was not paid.

Upon reception of the matter at police, the DPC and CI Mukono contacted SP Atwine Allan of the Flying Squad KMP East to dispatch a team for assistance in tracking and managed to arrest the suspect and recover the child, said Owesigire.

However , the dispatched police team also successfully arrested the suspect, identified as Kakande Alousyous, 22 , a boda boda rider who is a resident of Ntunda village, Mpata parish, Mpata sub-county in Mukono District. 

The suspect, Kakande Alousyous, was apprehended at Mpata Trading Centre. Mpata sub-county, Mukono District and is currently in custody at Mukono Police Station thereafter be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The operation highlights the dedication and swift action of the law enforcement officers in ensuring the safety of the communities, he included.
