Jocelyn Ucanda, the team manager of National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Netball club handsomely rewarded the players of Kapchorwa secondary school with playing boots.

The donation was comprised of fourteen (14) pairs of playing boots in varying sizes.

Ucanda’s donation followed a photo taken by journalist Jackson Kayiira for the Kapchorwa SS team in action at the recently concluded USSSA Ball Games 2 at Teso College Aloet in Soroti city.

“I am giving a pair of shoes to each player because it is a basic requirement for each netballer” Ucanda remarked to the school’s sports master.

“The purpose is to improve your confidence, minimize injury and improve accuracy; to qualify for various competitions and above all, to win” she added.

Kapchorwa Secondary School was pooled in group B alongside Green Light SS, Broadway High School, Dynamic SS, Y.Y Okot Memorial College, MaryHill High School, Gombe SS, Masindi Army and Amity Secondary School.

The netball competition was won by St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende, who defeated fellow Wakiso zone representatives Buddo Secondary School.

Besides netball, the USSSA Ball Games two also had Handball, Volleyball, Rugby 7’s, Basketball (3X3), Athletics and Cross-country.

These games are also qualifiers to the 2024 FEASSSA Games that will be hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive and co-hosted by Amus College School.
