JT Lady Jaguars drew first blood in the National Basketball League semifinals after cruising past Magic Stormers 63-37 in game one on Wednesday at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.

The Jaguars wasted no time asserting their dominance, racing to a 20-08 first-quarter lead and maintaining control throughout the contest.

Mercy Batamuliza led the charge with a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Shakirah Nanvubya chipped in with 16 points while Brenda Kayaga added 11.

For the Stormers, Kur Ajah was the lone bright spot, finishing with 12 points as her teammates struggled to find any offensive spark.

The Stormers endured a rough shooting night, hitting just one of 18 attempts from beyond the arc and losing the rebounding battle 43-61.

With the Jaguars now 1-0 up in the best-of-five series, Magic Stormers face an uphill task to keep their playoff hopes alive.
