Walukagga predicts victory in Busiro East election, ready for swearing-in
Singer-turned-politician Mathias Walukagga has expressed strong confidence in winning the Busiro East parliamentary seat after securing the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag.
Walukagga, who recently received the party’s endorsement over incumbent Medard Sseggona, said he has already prepared his suit for swearing-in, certain that victory is within reach. 
“One foot is already in parliament because when you get the NUP card, you’ve secured 50% already and you’d only need 1% to make 51% to swear in,” Walukagga said.
The people I was contesting with are all highly educated and intellectual, but God decided to pick me.
Medard Sseggona who has represented Busiro East for 15 years, announced that he would contest as an independent in the 2026 elections.
