The management of Rwenzori Province football team has confirmed the full working team in preparation for the 2024 edition of the FUFA Drum tournament.
Morris Bakali Muhindo is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He replaces Amon Ainabyona.
Faisal Bagumira is the new head of delegation as Ismail Mumbere is the team manager.
Coaching staff:
Christened as the “Abathembo”, Rwenzori province has named Richard Bwambale as the new head coach.
Bwambale will work with assistants Iddi Bukenya, Kabbito Wyclif as goal keeping coach and Augustine Mubiru as the second assistant coach.
The CAF “C” tactician previously worked as Kigezi Province head coach in the first edition of the FUFA drum.
At Rwenzori Province, Bwambale replaces Araali Kenneth “Deco” Nkojo.
He was also assistant coach of Rwenzori Province in the 3rd edition of FUFA drum ,Kihihi Young, Amama Football Club, Six O clock and Kigezi Province.
“It is an exciting moment taking on this challenging role” Muhindo told the media, adding; “As we all know, Rwenzori Province has most talented boys in the country, and therefore they deserve the best. I am here to give assurance that we will do everything to give joy to the fans and keep the pride of our cultural heritage. We hope that the support of Rwenzori executive committees and all stakeholders especially the fans, we want to take Abathembo forward. This is a long term achievement and we can win together”
Franic Kithulha Mugisa, the vice chairman expressed enthusiasm towards the appointment s and changes made by the Province, labelling them as one that were made to lead the province to the next level.
Meanwhile, the CEO confirmed the 26-man squad to represent Rwenzori Province in the 5th edition of the FUFA Drum scheduled for 24th August 2024.
Rwenzori visits Bunyoro Province in the first of the two-legged duels.
