Daudi Mugema recovers from limb swelling, thanks well-wishers for support

Singer Daudi Mugema has opened up about his swollen limb recovery process, saying he is doing a lot better as he can now walk on his own without support.

He extended gratitude to all the well-wishers who financially, emotionally, and psychologically supported him as he went through one of the toughest moments of his life.

He mentioned Gen. Salim Saleh, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Stabua Natooro, Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, Mr. Lule of Paka Last, Hajji Haruna Mubiru, Mesach Semakula, Eddy Kenzo, David Lutalo, and Maama Fiina among others.

Daudi Mugema disclosed that he was first diagnosed with cancer at Mulago cancer institute, but when he travelled to three hospitals in Instanbul, Turkey for treatment, the doctors failed to discover the illness.

He also revealed that the doctors in Turkey had ruled out cancer, and everyone was left puzzled about what exactly was troubling him.

Speaking in an interview on Bukedde TV, the “Katonda Wabanaku” singer noted that besides the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, no other opposition politician supported him despite asking for their aid.

When he figured out that he could no longer cry to the public for support, he sought to seek aid from Gen. Salim Saleh, who responded to him after two and a half months.

He admits that he gave him some good amount of money that helped him establish his permanent home of residence and that he can now afford everything on his own.

Gen. Saleh made me wait for about 2 and a half months to meet him because he was upset with me, but he eventually forgave me. He had kept his anger supposedly on the clips I used to appear in criticizing the government. He came through for me financially. On that money, I established where I can rest peacefully, and I can get something to feed on.
