Bright Stars rally to hold Wakiso Giants

Soltilo Bright Stars needed to come from a goal to salvage a point away against Wakiso Giants in the first game of the season.

In what was the first game in charge for Steven Bengo as permanent head coach for the Purple Sharks, the two sides settled for a one-all draw.

A largely changed team from last season, Wakiso Giants took the lead through debutant Herbert Asiimwe, seven minutes before the break.

The visitors reacted by calling for the first change of the game immediately after the break with John Alou Kokas replacing Ashraf Mulindi.

The move would eventually pay off dividends with the substitute leveling matters in the 68th minute.

Kokas was well stationed outside the area to fire a ferocious strike home when Wakiso Giants failed to clear their lines.

The two teams will return to action this week with Wakiso Giants visiting Maroons FC in Luzira on Friday while Soltilo Brights Stars will be at home to URA FC on the same day
